Philips: Feike Sijbesma appointed new board chairman

(CercleFinance.com) - Philips announced on Tuesday that it has chosen Feike Sijbesma to succeed Jeroen van der Veer as chairman of its supervisory board.


Feike Sijbesma, a 61-year-old former senior executive of the DSM chemicals group, joined the board of the Dutch health technology specialist last year and took over as vice chairman.

He will succeed Jeroen van der Veer, who will be stepping down after three consecutive terms as chairman since joining the board in 2009, after its AGM in May.

Philips has also announced that it has appointed Paul Stoffels, a 58-year-old Belgian executive, who is currently Medical Director at Johnson & Johnson, as its next Vice Chairman.
