Philips: on track to become CO2-neutral this year

(CercleFinance.com) - Philips is on track to become CO2-neutral in its own operations this year, with its US and Dutch facilities now 100%-powered by renewable electricity, the Dutch health technology group said on Tuesday.


The Amsterdam- based company said that its US operations were already powered by renewable electricity from the Los Mirasoles wind farm in Texas.

From 2019, two wind farms in the Dutch province of Zeeland, with which Philips signed long-term contracts through its renewable electricity purchasing consortium with DSM and Google, powered all its operations in the Netherlands.

Combined with the Texas wind farm, this covers about half of the company's total electricity demand.
