Unilever: towards the sale of certain food brands.

(CercleFinance.com) - The Anglo-Dutch consumer goods giant Unilever is set to sell food brands worth the equivalent of six billion pounds sterling (about 6.
9 billion euros), according to reports in the British press at the weekend.

According to the Sunday Times, in particular the group intends to sell its margarine brands Flora and Stork after rejecting the takeover bid from the US giant Kraft Heinz last month.

The Sunday Telegraph goes further, stating that Unilever's CEO, Paul Polman, intends to unveil a series of cost-cutting and restructuring measures in April, beginning with the disposals of certain brands.

The Sunday newspaper says that private equity companies such as Bain Capital, CVC and Clayton Dubilier & Rice are already considering making offers.

The Sunday Telegraph also mentions potential interest from Kraft Heinz.
