Heineken: names female independent director to its board

(CercleFinance.com) - On unveiling its annual results on Monday, Heineken said it would propose Marion Helmes, the ex-CFO of German healthcare company Celesio, as member of the group's supervisory board.

If appointed by shareholders in April, Marion Helmes will become chair of the group's audit committee, taking over from Jean-Marc Huët, who will remain a member of the audit committee.

Aged 52, Helmes is an independent director and served as Celesio's CFO until 2014.

Also on Monday, Heineken unveiled its programme for renewable energy, aiming to grow its share of renewable thermal energy and electricity in production from the current level of 14%, to 70% by 2030.

Since 2008 carbon emissions at Heineken breweries have already decreased by 41% and in 2017 the company has already reached its 2020 emission targets in production.
