SES: contract for 4G services in East Africa

(CercleFinance.com) - SES announced on Thursday that it has signed a three-year agreement with iSAT Africa to provide satellite capacity for the launch of 4G services in East Africa.


The Luxembourg-based company said the partnership will enable local telecoms operators to deliver high-performance 4G services to rural and ultra-rural communities in the area.

The agreement says that SES will initially offer capacity on one of its O3b satellites positioned in medium earth orbit (MEO) before offering extended capacity based on its next-generation O3b mPower MEO system as from next year.
