Toyota: to invest $3.4bn in batteries in US

(CercleFinance.com) - Toyota today announced a 380 billion yen (approximately 3.
4 billion dollar) investment in automotive batteries in the United States through to 2030.

The investment is aimed at expanding and locating automotive battery production in the United States, including batteries for electric vehicles.

This operation is part of a global investment of 13.5 billion dollars it announced last month, which is dedicated to the development and production of batteries.

To complete the investment, Toyota Motor North America has announced the creation of a new company and the construction of an automotive battery plant with Toyota Tsusho in the US. The project is expected to be supported by an investment of 1.29 billion dollars through to 2031, with production set to begin in 2025.
