Unicredit: issues dollars notes to strengthen capital.
(CercleFinance.com) - Unicredit has issued 1 billion dollars in subordinated notes to further strengthen capital, the Italian bank said on Tuesday.
The book-building process allowed the group to gather more than 3 billion dollars in demand from around 200 investors across the world, Unicredit said.
The 15-year notes with an optional call after 10 years represent the first subordinated transaction under a newly established 30-billion-dollar programme.
The debt carries a fixed coupon rate close to 5.9 percent per annum, the lender said.
Unicredit said it received positive market feedback from investors during a roadshow held recently in the US, Canada and Asia after a successful inaugural senior issuance in dollars in April.
As a reminder, the Italian lender had successfully completed a 13 billion euros rights issue in March.
