Moncler: double-digit growth continues in third quarter

(CercleFinance.com) - Moncler shares are surging 3% on Thursday after the Italian down jacket maker posted "solid" quarterly numbers, helped by strong Chinese demand.


Moncler said that third-quarter sales came in at 873 million euros, up 18% compared to the same period last year. At current exchange rates, sales rose 23% compared to the same period in 2017.

Remo Ruffini, Moncler's Chairman and CEO, also made upbeat comments about the months to come.

"The fourth quarter has just started, but we continue to see very positive signs in all our markets," he commented on Thursday.

"The Chinese Golden Week produced even better results compared to last year, and Moncler's brand momentum remains strong on all markets," he added.

The Milan-listed Moncler stock is currently up 3.1% at 30.8 euros, outperforming a 1.5% rise in the FTSE MIB index.
