Eni: to increase gas production in Libya

(CercleFinance.com) - Eni announces that it has reached an agreement with the National Oil Corporation of Libya (NOC) to develop the "A&E Structures", a strategic project aimed at increasing gas production to supply the Libyan domestic market and ensure exports to Europe.


The project consists of the development of two gas fields, i.e. the "A" and "E" structures, located offshore Libya. The two structures' combined gas production will start in 2026 and reach a plateau of 750 million standard cubic feet of gas per day.

The project also includes the construction of a carbon capture and storage (CCS) facility at Mellitah, enabling a significant reduction in the overall carbon footprint, in line with Eni's decarbonisation strategy.
