ENI: deal with Progressive Energy for HyNet project in UK

(CercleFinance.com) - Italian oil group Eni has announced signing an agreement with Progressive Energy Limited for the carbon capture and storage (CCS) of the HyNet North West project (UK).


Under the agreement, Eni will develop and operate both onshore and offshore CO2 transport and storage, while Progressive Energy will lead and coordinate the capture and hydrogen aspects of the project.

HyNet is billed as a nationally important project, contributing to the transition to clean fuels, while generating new green jobs in the North West of England and North Wales, Eni says.

HyNet will transform one of the UK's most energy-intensive industrial districts into the world's first low-carbon industrial cluster, Eni said.
