ENI: to produce low emission fuel with renewable energy

(CercleFinance.com) - ENI has announced that it is teaming up with Synhelion to produce low-emission fuel by using renewable energy.


Both companies will develop a new technology for the production of methanol from carbon dioxide, water and methane, in a process that requires high temperatures obtained by the use of solar energy.

The production of methanol using renewable energies will help ENI to simultaneously achieve both the objectives of reducing greenhouse gases and the use of carbon dioxide as a raw material.

Preliminary data show that the project to be developed will reduce emissions from conventional methanol production by over 50%.
