Eni: makes new discovery in the North Sea

(CercleFinance.com) - Italian energy group Eni said on Tuesday that it has made a new oil and gas discovery in the central part of the North Sea.


The discovery has been made through Var Energi, which is jointly owned by Eni (70%) and HitecVision (30%).

The unit holds a 20% stake in the exploration well, while operator Aker BP holds 60% of the project, which is located about 225 km west of Stavanger in a water depth of 120 metres, Eni said.
