Generali: launches new AM boutique in New York

(CercleFinance.com) - Italian insurance giant Generali will contribute up to 4 billion dollars to launch with ex-AllianceBernstein CEO Peter Kraus a new asset management company headquartered in New York, the company said on Thursday.

Aperture Investors will be an "innovative" asset manager with a "disruptive" revenue model, charging ETF-like fees, which can only rise when managers beat their benchmarks, Generali said.

"Aperture Investors is another important milestone in Generali's multi-boutique strategy launched last year," Tim Ryan, CEO of Generali Asset Management, commented.

Peter Kraus, the former chairman and CEO of AllianceBernstein and co-head of Goldman Sachs' investment management unit, will be Aperture Investors' chairman and CEO.
