Linde: to expand Singapore manufacturing complex

(CercleFinance.com) - German industrial gases group Linde will invest 1.
4 billion dollars to expand a manufacturing complex in Singapore, and has signed a long-term agreement with US energy giant ExxonMobil to support the project.

The project will include building four additional gasifiers, an air separation plant, as well as downstream gas processing units and sulphur recovery plants, the company said on Tuesday.

Linde's gasification complex will produce and supply hydrogen and synthesis gas to ExxonMobil by upgrading the heavy residue feedstock from its new facilities.

Linde also plans to invest in a set of pipelines for the transfer of products between the ExxonMobil and Linde facilities.

Linde's engineering unit will design and build the new plant, with construction expected to start in the second half of 2019, with commissioning due in 2023.
