Ryanair: cancels 250 flights due to pilot strike

(CercleFinance.com) - Ryanair is cancelling 250 flights on Friday due to a strike by German pilots in a dispute over pay.


Pilots' union Vereinigung Cockpit has called for a strike at Ryanair airports in Germany today, the company said.

Ryanair said it would still be able to operate 2,150 flights out of over the 2,400 flights scheduled today, or close to 90%.

The low-cost airline said its pilots in Germany received a 20% pay increase at the start of this year, now receiving around 190,000 euros per year, in addition to benefits.
