easyJet: sale and leaseback of six A320NEO aircraft

(CercleFinance.com) - easyJet announced on Friday that it has entered into a sale and leaseback agreement for six of its A320neo aircraft in a deal expected to raise 255 million dollars.

The low-cost British airline explains that this transaction is part of a program unveiled last month to raise between 500 to 650 million pounds from the sale and lease of some of its aircraft.

These funds will improve the group's cash flow and strengthen its financial situation in the midst of the Covid-19 crisis.

The aircraft will be sold to SMBC Aviation Capital, which will lease them to the carrier for periods of between 110 and 122 months.
