easyJet: October traffic up 9.9%.

(CercleFinance.com) - Low-cost airline easyJet carried 9.
9% more passengers in October year-on-year, despite higher cancellations due to the air traffic controllers' strike in France.

The airline carried 7.52 million passengers last month, up from the 6.84 million in October 2016, while its load factor - a measure of how the company fills its planes - improved by 2.3 points to 92.5%.

These stats are "broadly similar to the recent trend," analysts at Liberum commented this morning.

There were, however, 434 cancellations in October, compared to just 164 in October 2016, with the French air traffic controllers' strike alone causing around 200 cancellations on 10 October.

Shares in easyJet, which have risen 30% so far this year, are currently down 0.7% at 1,305 pence this morning.
