easyJet: new connecting platform to book long-haul flights.

(CercleFinance.com) - easyJet said it is launching a platform connecting to other European low fares airlines, that will enable its passengers to book long-haul flights.

The company said WestJet and Norwegian are the launch partners of its "Worldwide by easyJet" initiative, offering flights to North and South America and the Far East.

The service will enable easyJet passengers to book flights - e.g. from Paris CDG airport with easyJet to New York with Norwegian - via London Gatwick.

easyJet said it plans to expand to other key airports in Europe, such as Milan Malpensa, Geneva, Amsterdam, Paris Charles De Gaulle and Barcelona.

"In our view, this offers incremental revenue, although we would be cautious on the upside in the short term," Liberum analysts commented this morning, although they maintain their "sell" rating on the stock, with a target price of 1,100 pence.

easyJet shares are currently up 0.8% at 1,204 pence in London.
