easyJet: A321 NEO aircraft joins the fleet.

(CercleFinance.com) - In addition to its interim accounts and the recruitment of 450 new pilots, on Tuesday easyJet announced that it has reached an agreement with Airbus Group to convert its existing order of 30 Airbus A320 NEO ("New Engine Option") into 235-seat A321 NEO planes.


The British low-cost airline stated that the first delivery is scheduled for the summer of 2018 and is part of the existing agreement with Airbus, as signed in 2013. Thanks to this change, the number of seats per flight will be increased by about 30% compared to an A320 and 50% for an A319.

The A321neo will also ensure significant savings, which are estimated at between 8% and 9% more than an A320neo and nearly 21% more than an A319, in particular thanks to the reduction in kerosene consumption.
