Rolls-Royce: first transatlantic flight using only SAF

(CercleFinance.com) - The first transatlantic flight using only sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) will take off from London in 2023, powered by the Rolls-Royce Trent 1000.


The first ever 'net zero' transatlantic flight will take off from the UK next year as Virgin Atlantic receives government funding to cross the ocean using only sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).

A Virgin Atlantic Boeing 787, powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 engines, will take off from London's Heathrow Airport to John F. Kennedy Airport in New York.
