Shell: partners Equinor in offshore wind in Norway

(CercleFinance.com) - Equinor announces that it has launched a study in the Troll and Oseberg fields, together with its partners Petoro, TotalEnergies, Shell and ConocoPhillips, to investigate the possibility of building a floating offshore wind farm about 65 kilometres west of Bergen, Norway.

With an installed capacity of around ~1 GW and an annual production of ~4.3 TWh, which would start in 2027, this site, named Trollvind, could provide a large part of the electricity needed to run the Troll and Oseberg offshore fields.

The company says that Trollvind's electricity could make a strong contribution to the electrification of oil and gas facilities, accelerate the development of offshore wind in Norway and provide additional electricity to the Bergen region.

This seems to have little effect on Shell shares, however, as they are currently down 0.8%.
