Shell: signs MoU with Shandong Yulong Petrochemical

(CercleFinance.com) - Shell & AMG Recycling BV today signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Shandong Yulong Petrochemical to assess the potential of an old catalyst recycling facility in Yantai, China.


The MoU will enable Shandong Yulong Petrochemical and Shell & AMG Recycling B.V. to explore the feasibility of the project to recover precious metals from catalyst residues from Chinese refineries.

This recovery of residues could also enable refineries to transform the bottom of oil barrels into more valuable products, including the generation of petrochemical feedstock.

Such a facility would help maximise the benefits of China's natural resources while addressing the need for environmentally responsible management of residues.
