Intertek: buys Colombian testing firm Proasem

(CercleFinance.com) - Britain's Intertek Group said on Thursday that it has agreed to buy Colombian laboratory testing company Proasem for an undisclosed amount.


With 190 employees and annual revenues of close to 4.5 million pounds, Proasem has a particularly strong presence in the fuel testing market and works with the world's leading oil and gas companies, Intertek said.

Intertek said that buying Proasem, which is enjoying strong organic revenue growth, is expected to boost its position as a provider to oil & gas and cargo customers on the upbeat Colombian market and the wider Latin America region.
