BT: Openreach's new prices to have adverse impact on results

(CercleFinance.com) - BT expects that the new pricing structure for fibre broadband at its digital network business Openreach is likely to have an adverse impact on results, the telecoms operator said on Tuesday.


BT expects that the new wholesale prices will have an adverse impact in the order of high tens of millions of pounds on Openreach's revenue and EBITDA in 2018/19.

At group level, the final net impact will depend on retail market dynam
ics, the former state telecoms monopoly said.

So far, there is no change to the group's financial outlook for 2018/19, BT added.

Shares of BT were up 1.1% at 224.65 pence in London after the statement.
