AstraZeneca: increases production of Covid vaccine

(CercleFinance.com) - The Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use (CHMP) of the European Medicines Agency (EMA) announces that it has approved an increase in manufacturing capacity for Vaxzevria, the Covid vaccine developed by AstraZeneca.


As a result, an existing manufacturing site operated by Universal Farma in Guadalajara, Spain, will add a second production line for vial filling.

This addition should support the continued supply of Vaxzevria, including to the Covax initiative, which organises donations of doses to the poorest countries.
