AstraZeneca: progress in developing a Covid-19 vaccine

(CercleFinance.com) - In the fight against Covid-19, AstraZeneca announces that it has reached initial agreements for at least 400 million doses of vaccines, while securing production capacity for one billion doses, with deliveries scheduled to begin in September.


The pharmaceutical company has also received support exceeding 1 billion dollars from the US Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA) for vaccine development, production and delivery, starting in the autumn.

AstraZeneca says that it has joined forces with the UK government to support the Oxford University vaccine program. It is also working with international organisations, including the WHO, to distribute vaccines worldwide.
