AstraZeneca: label changes for two diabetes drugs

(CercleFinance.com) - The US Food and Drug Administration has approved a label update for AstraZeneca's Farxiga and Xigduo XR, expanding their use in patients with type-2 diabetes and moderate renal impairment.


The updated labels lower the threshold of glomerular filtration for both drugs, hence expanding the potential population of patients who may benefit from the medicines, the drugmaker said.

Farxiga and Xigduo XR are both indicated to improve glycemic control in adults with type-2 diabetes.
