AstraZeneca: bond offering to refinance debt.

(CercleFinance.com) - AstraZeneca is raising 2 billion dollars of bonds in three tranches so as to refinance existing debt at a lower cost.


The company yesterday priced a bond offering consisting of a 1 billion dollar 5-year fixed rate note issue, with a coupon of 2.375%; a 750 million dollar 10-year fixed rate note issue, with a coupon of 3.125%; and a 250 million dollar 5-year floating rate note issue.

The offering is expected to close on 12 June.

AstraZeneca also presented this morning data showing that Tagrisso has extended the length of time without disease worsening or death versus chemotherapy in lung cancer patients with central nervous system metastases.
