bp: FPSO leaves for GTA project site
(CercleFinance.com) - bp says that the floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel for its Greater Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA) liquefied natural gas (LNG) project has begun its journey to the project site off the coast of Mauritania and Senegal.
The FPSO sailed on 20 January from Qidong, China, after three and a half years of construction and a series of sea trials. It will now travel 12,000 nautical miles, via Singapore, to its final destination. The GTA project also includes the subsea development of gas fields and near-shore floating LNG (FLNG) facilities.
