BP: new joint venture with RIL in India
(CercleFinance.com) - BP and the Indian group Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) announce an agreement to create a new joint venture that will bring together a network of petrol stations and an aviation fuel business in India.
"Building on Reliance's existing Indian fuel retailing network and an aviation fuel business, the partners expect the venture to expand rapidly to help meet the country's fast-growing demand for energy and mobility," BP said. Reinforcing the partnership between both groups, which began in 2011, the joint venture is hence aiming for a network of 5,500 petrol stations in the next five years, from over 1,400 that are currently operated by RIL.
