Rio Tinto: global production up in Q4
(CercleFinance.com) - In its Q4 trading update, Rio Tinto said that iron ore production at its major Pilbara region in Western Australia rose 6% year-on-year to 89.
5 million tonnes, while iron ore shipments rose 4% over the same period, to 87.3 million tonnes.
Amongst its other main raw materials, the mining company announced a 1% increase in Bauxite production, +3% for Aluminium production, +42% for Titanium dioxide and +1% for Iron ore pellets and concentrates.
Copper ore production was down by 1% however, relative to Q4 of the previous year.
