BAE Systems: $60m contract with US AMC
(CercleFinance.com) - BAE Systems announced yesterday that it has been awarded a 60 million dollar contract by the US Army Contracting Command to develop next-generation microelectronics with radiation hardened by design (RHBD) technology.
As such, BAE Systems is expected to leverage Intel Corporation's commercial foundry, Intel Foundry Services.
The programs main aim is to expand access to advanced microelectronics technology for the US government and aerospace community through a national offering.
Radiation hardened electronics is a critical, highly specialised technology, BAE Systems said.
