Diageo: cancels Ursula Burns' appointment on board

(CercleFinance.com) - Finally, Diageo will not appoint Ursula Burns to its board of directors as her operational role at Dutch-based mobile phone operator Veon has been extended, the British spirits maker said on Wednesday.


In March, Diageo announced that Ursula Burns' appointment as non-executive director had been delayed following her appointment as interim executive chairman for Veon.

Diageo and Ursula Burns have now agreed that as she continues to act as interim executive chairwoman, she will not take up her appointment on the board, the firm said.
