Diageo: names Irish chef as food ambassador

(CercleFinance.com) - Diageo has named an Irish chef as its "global gastronomer," with the task of becoming the British spirits maker's authority on food and gastronomy culture, the company said on Wednesday.


Diageo said Mark Moriarty will be responsible of forging a closer "connection" between the wider food occasion and the group's spirits portfolio, which includes brands such as Johnnie Walker Scotch Whisky and Talisker.

Known for his classic, simple cooking style, Moriarty became famous in 2015 when he was crowned the San Pellegrino World Young Chef of the Year.
