Diageo: interim profit warning.

(CercleFinance.com) - The Diageo share is down about 2% in London today.

The spirits group said on Wednesday that its first-half revenues will suffer from a late Chinese New Year, and from the ban on the sale of alcohol near motorways in India.

Nevertheless, the group is still aiming to increase its organic operating margin by 175 basis points by 30 June 2019. Likewise, FY sales are expected to increase by 5%.

Nevertheless, as previously announced, Diageo expects its H2 operating margin to be affected by its investments in spirits and whiskey in the US.
