BHP: production guidance maintained.

(CercleFinance.com) - Global miner BHP said on Wednesday that its performance in the first quarter has kept the group on track to deliver 7% growth in volumes over the 2018 financial year.


In the three months to 30 September, total copper production increased by 14%, supported by the start-up of a project and higher average copper grades.

Even so, iron ore production over the quarter fell by 3% following a fire at a plant, while petroleum production decreased by 8% in the wake of hurricane Harvey.

All production and unit cost guidance remains unchanged for the 2018 financial year, BHP said.

The London-listed BHP shares were down 0.5% this morning.
