BHP Billiton: net profit triples in 2016-17.

(CercleFinance.com) - BHP Billiton has announced that its net income, group share has almost tripled (+192%) for the fiscal year ended 30 June, to 5.
9 billion dollars, while profit from its activities reached nearly 11.8 billion dollars, against a loss of 6.2 billion dollars in 2015-16.

Meanwhile, underlying EBITDA of the Anglo-Australian mining company rose 64% to 20.3 billion dollars, meaning an EBITDA margin that is up 14 points at 55% on revenue growth of 24% to 38.3 billion dollars.

With underlying EPS of 126.5 cents over the past year, BHP Billiton's management has decided to pay a final dividend of 43 cents per share, covered by the free cash flow generated over the period.
