bioMérieux: selected by the Fleming Fund

(CercleFinance.com) - bioMérieux announces that it has been selected as a supplier by the Fleming Fund, a British investment program endowed with 265 million pounds (about 310 milion euros) to fight antimicrobial resistance in resource-limited countries worldwide.


According to a study, resistance to antibiotics could be responsible for at least 10 million deaths per year worldwide, with a huge cost on the global economy, the specialist in vitro diagnostics said.

bioMérieux will act locally in 18 of the 24 countries concerned by the program. Over the next three years, in each of these countries, which are in Africa and Asia Pacific, it will equip a clinical laboratory and a reference veterinary laboratory.
