Soitec: increase in POI production capacity

(CercleFinance.com) - Soitec announces the increase of the piezoelectric-on-insulator (POI) substrate production capacity, an innovative substrate manufactured using its patented Smart Cut technology, to meet growing customer demand.


The semiconductor materials maker says that with 4G and 5G networks using an increasing number of frequency bands to enable high-speed data transmission, smartphones need to integrate more increasingly efficient filters.

"Our POI engineered substrates... offer built-in temperature compensation and allow the integration of multiple filters on a single die" said Dr. Bernard Aspar, Senior Executive Vice President of Soitec's Global Business Units.
