CGG: Sercel in negotiations to acquire Liss

(CercleFinance.com) - Geosciences group CGG has announced that its subsidiary Sercel has entered into exclusive negotiations to acquire Low Impact Seismic Sources (LISS), which has developed the Tuned Pulse Source (TPS) in collaboration with Shell.


TPS is the solution that best meets the industry's needs for low frequencies that enable an improved penetration, easier quantitative interpretation and better FWI (Full Waveform Inversion) results, the group said.

Sercel will continue to develop and market TPS worldwide, while Shell will support the sea trials to be carried out this summer and will complete an initial commercial mission with LISS's TPS at the end of the year.
