Fnac Darty: makes loss in 2022

(CercleFinance.com) - Fnac Darty has published 2022 sales of 7,949 million euros, down 1.
9% LFL compared to 2021.

The group's underlying operating profit fell from 270 to 230 million euros (i.e. -14.8%), while it posted a loss of 28 million euros in 2022, compared with a profit of 160 million euros the year before.

The year 2022 was marked by an increasing level of inflation in an uncertain geopolitical environment that impacted visibility on activity throughout the year, the group points out.

Against this backdrop, Fnac Darty expects sales to decline slightly in H1, coupled with a sharp rise in costs, particularly for energy, but believes it should benefit from less unfavourable market conditions in H2, with inflation levels possibly lower than in H1.

The group is targeting Recurring Operating Income for 2023 of around 200 million euros.
