Suez: agreement to acquire EnviroServ

(CercleFinance.com) - Suez and its two partners Royal Bafokeng Holdings (RBH) and African Infrastructure Investment Managers (AIIM) have signed a binding agreement to acquire the South African company EnviroServ Holdings Proprietary Limited (EnviroServ).


Since its creation in 1979, EnviroServ (sales of 80 million euros and 2,200 employees) has been collecting, treating and disposing of ordinary and hazardous waste at treatment and storage sites throughout South Africa, Mozambique and Uganda.

Through this acquisition, Suez intends to strengthen its position as an international specialist in municipal and industrial waste management, while consolidating its position on the African continent.

The transaction is to be carried out through the creation of an ad hoc holding company, whose shareholders will be Suez (51%), RBH (24.5%) and the IDEAS Fund managed by AIIM (24.5%).
