Getlink: passenger shuttle traffic down 28% in August

(CercleFinance.com) - Getlink has announced that its passenger shuttle transported 267,942 passenger cars in August, down 28% y-o-y, during a summer that was hit by the double whammy of quarantine being lifted on 7 July before being restored on 15 August.


With 110,327 trucks transported last month (-7%), Le Shuttle Freight traffic was resilient in current economic conditions, representing the undisputed competitive nature of the service, the group said.

Since 1 January, almost 1,056,000 passenger cars and nearly 900,000 trucks have crossed the English Channel on board Eurotunnel shuttles, representing respective falls of 42% and 15% relative to the first eight months of 2019.
