Getlink: passenger shuttle traffic down 1% in September

(CercleFinance.com) - Getlink has announced that passenger shuttle traffic fell by 1% y-o-y in September, with 238,119 passenger cars transported, which the chennel tunnel operator still says is solid performance, as in 2018 it posted the best month of September since 1999.


Meanwhile, Shuttle Freight traffic fell by 7% y-o-y, with 129,623 trucks transported, impacted by a fall in consumption in the UK and an economic slowdown in Germany.

Since 1 January, almost 2.1 million passenger cars have crossed the Channel with Le Shuttle, down 2%, stemming from Brexit-related uncertainties, while Shuttle Freight has transported almost 1.2 million trucks, down 6%.
