Rexel: three portfolio rotation transactions

(CercleFinance.com) - As part of its Power Up 2025 strategic plan announced in June 2022, Rexel has announced three transactions in January: two acquisitions in North America and the sale of its Norwegian operations, thereby strengthening its portfolio.


It acquired Buckles Smith Electric Company in the US, a player in industrial automation and authorized reseller of Rockwell automation solutions, as well as Lineman's Testing Laboratories in Canada.

Rexel has also signed to sell its Norwegian operations to Kesko, which are less profitable than the group average and have less strategic potential, a sale that remains subject to the go-ahead from the local competition authority.

Together the three transactions will be accretive for the French electrical supplies distributor from the first year in terms of profitability, earnings and return on capital employed (ROCE).
