Arkema: Q1 underlying earnings down 15.4%

(CercleFinance.com) - Arkema has published Q1 2019 underlying net income that is down 15.
4% at 165 million euros, with EBITDA that is down 3.4% at 370 million euros, meanings a margin that is down 0.9 point at 16.7%.

The chemist has posted sales of 2,215 million euros, up 2%, thanks to increases selling prices (+4.7% at the high performance materials division), while its volumes are down 2.5 % compared to the very good start of 2018.

Throughout the year, while remaining attentive to changes in the macroeconomic environment, Arkema has confirmed its aim to consolidate its financial performance at high levels, achieving EBITDA that is similar to the record level of 2018.
