EDF: could supply between 4 and 6 EPR to Poland

(CercleFinance.com) - EDF today announced that it has submitted a preliminary non-binding offer to the Polish government for a contract to supply engineering studies, equipment and the construction of four to six EPR reactors in Poland, representing a capacity of 6.
6 to 9.9 GWe, spread over two or three sites.

The offer aims to set the framework for a strategic Franco-Polish partnership to support Poland's energy transition program, in line with European net zero objectives.

This program would contribute to the country's energy independence, thanks to electricity production covering up to 40% of the country's current demand for at least 60 years.

It would also mark a major step forward on Poland's path to net zero, by avoiding the emission of around 55 million tonnes of CO2 per year, EDF says.
