EDF: teams up with Thalès and Ericsson on CONNECT project
(CercleFinance.com) - EDF, Thales and Ericsson have joined forces through the CONNECT project, which aims to provide secure cellular connectivity to all EDF nuclear sites in France.
Thales, a leader in network design and operation, will deploy secure communication services, while Ericsson will provide innovative 4G private network solutions to ensure high performance connectivity, resilience and security.
This high-speed connectivity project, conducted with Swedish telecoms equipment manufacturer Ericsson, will help improve the performance of maintenance, operations and logistics activities, the cybersecurity specialist says.
The infrastructure will enable EDF employees and service providers to have remote access, via secure terminals, to all the resources they need.
The network has already been successfully deployed on a pilot site at the Blayais power plant in Gironde, the first stage of a national deployment project by EDF.
