EDF: Barclays says statement is reassuring

(CercleFinance.com) - In reaction to the latest EDF communication, this morning Barclays has confirmed its neutral ("weight in line") rating on the share, maintaining its target price of 13 euros.


EDF said this morning that the technical discrepancies noted on reactor elements (16 steam generators) affect 6 nuclear units out of the 58 operated by the group, i.e. about 10% of the total. EDF adds that immediate technical intervention is not necessary.

Subject to the opinion of the French Nuclear Authority, the ASN, Barclays deduces that this problem is less penalising for nuclear production than that which occurred three years ago - again on parts from Framatome, which affected a third of its facilities.
