EDF: wins Dunkirk offshore wind power project

(CercleFinance.com) - France's Ministry for the Ecological and Inclusive Transition has chosen the consortium led by EDF Group, through its subsidiary EDF Renouvelables, in partnership with Innogy and Enbridge.

The group will design, build, operate and maintain the future Dunkirk wind farm.

The future park will have an installed capacity of nearly 600 MW. It will supply the equivalent of around 40% of the Nord department's electricity needs.

Jean-Bernard Lévy, Chairman and CEO of the EDF Group, said, "Our winning bid was highly competitive, and this has notably prompted the Government to double the offshore wind power targets contained in its Multi-year Energy Plan, giving new development opportunities for EDF and all participants in the sector."
